America’s Finest City Tour
April 15-23, 2024
Ready to get away this spring to ideal weather and 70 miles of pristine beaches? Then San Diego, California is calling your name! It is the birthplace of California and the second largest city in California.
We will depart Lubbock on a Monday and travel to Gallup, New Mexico our first night. From there we will overnight in Yuma, Arizona and then onto San Diego. Upon our arrival in San Diego, we have planned a step-on guide tour with the top-rated Another Side of San Diego Tours, exploring the city’s most renowned spots, including Coronado, Hotel Del Coronado, El Prado, Gaslamp Quarter, Embarcadero, Little Italy, and Balboa Park. Afterward, we check into our downtown hotel for three nights.
The next day we will see America’s Finest City from a private charter boat, viewing the California coast sea life, the USS Midway, and the city’s beautiful beaches. Lunch will be catered for us while we enjoy San Diego from a different perspective. The rest of the afternoon will be spent checking out the famous Balboa Park and Coronado Island up close and personal.
Friday, we start our day with a tour of the USS Midway, America’s longest serving aircraft-carrier of the twentieth century! We will enjoy a self-guided audio tour, the “Voice of Midway” movie, and volunteer docents will be stationed throughout the midway. Our afternoon is time on the beach, seeing La Jolla seaside village, and driving the historic Highway 101 to Oceanside too, where the historic Oceanside Pier is located.
Leaving San Diego Saturday morning we will drive to Simi Valley, CA for a docent-led tour of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum that will also include an upscale Air Force One White House Luncheon in the Air Force One Pavilion. We will overnight in Simi Valley, then begin heading home Sunday morning, first overnighting in Williams, AZ at the Grand Canyon Railway and Hotel. Then we drive to Santa Fe to spend the night in a historic hacienda in the heart of downtown Santa Fe our last night.
As always there will be surprise stops along our journey!
The cost is:
SINGLE: $4030 per person (one to a room)
DOUBLE: $3013 per person (two to a room)
TRIPLE: $2680 per person (three to a room)
A $100 non-refundable PER PERSON deposit reserves your space (and goes toward your trip cost). A $1000 PER PERSON deposit is due no later than March 15, 2024, with the remaining due no later than April 5, 2024.
$25 Fee on all late payments.
Cost includes all activities, transportation, breakfast each morning, lodging, harbor cruise lunch, and Air Force One lunch.
Refunds are subject to King’s Highway’s prepaid obligations. If you cancel 10 days or less prior to departure, there are no refunds available.
