Get ready to be amazed by the beauty of this tour because the mountains of the northwest and Canada
are calling your name!
Our tour begins in Lubbock and our first night will be spent in Durango, CO. The next day we drive to
Salt Lake City, and on our way to Nampa, ID the next day we will stop at the historical Golden Spike National
Historic Park. The next morning, we journey toward Portland, OR, stopping at a few sites along the way. We
make our way to Tillamook Cheese Factory the next morning for a tour and tasting, then follow the coast up to
the fishing village-meets-Victoriana town, Astoria, OR for the night. Hopefully the wild sea lions will be hanging
around for us to enjoy! Before arriving in Seattle for two nights the next day we plan to stop and see the
beauty of Snoqualmie Falls. While in Seattle we have a step-on guide planned that will give us a tour of the
city, time at Pike’s Place Market, and tour the Space Needle and Chiluly garden and glass exhibit. The next
day we will leave the United States by ferry and port at Victoria, BC, for two nights on the harbor. Our days in
Victoria will be spent at the gorgeous Butchart Gardens and whale watching from a private charter boat. The
next day we ferry again to Vancouver, BC, where we will enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride through the city
and check out a 360-degree view from above at the famous Vancouver Lookout. Before leaving Vancouver,
BC the next morning we will walk the legendary Capilano Suspension Bridge, then drive to Kamloops, BC for
the night. Sunday morning we continue our travel through the Canadian Rockies to Jasper National Park and
cruise stunning Maligne Lake that afternoon. After our cruise, we overnight at the luxurious Fairmont Jasper
Park Lodge and enjoy fine dining that evening. Monday morning is a drive along Columbia Icefield then ride
an ”off road” bus to magnificent Athabasca Glacier and walk on it too! We get access to the Skywalk over the
Columbia Icefield as well. On our way to Banff to overnight at the elegant Fairmont Banff Springs hotel we
plan to stop at breathtaking Lake Louise for photo ops. Our evening includes another fine dining experience at
the hotel. Before leaving Banff the next morning, we have planned a gondola ride to the top of Sulphur
Mountain to see the Canadian Rockies in full view! After overnighting in Calgary, AB we drive to Great Falls,
MT with a stop at Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump for a docent led tour. The next day we start heading south
toward home with overnights in Casper, WY and Pueblo, CO and arriving in Lubbock on Saturday. Lots of
surprise stops are planned on this tour as well!
