November's day trip will help us get to know our first responders and the media that reports their service and experiences.
We will start the day with a tour of the 911 Communications Center, then head to the Lubbock Police Department to hear about the job of a police officer and detective in Lubbock. Before lunch we will tour the KAMC/KLBK Studios and see the behind-the-scenes action of the news, weather, and sports. After lunch there is a presentation and tour of the Station 1 Lubbock Fire Department. While we are there a member from the 5-5-5 Initiative will speak to the group about how the initiative was founded, and how they promote roadway safety for first responders and roadway workers. Our last event of the day will be at UMC EMS Station 1 for a presentation and short tour of their facility.
We will meet at WalMart (S. Loop 289 and Quaker) east side parking lot at 7:45am and depart at 8:00am. The cost will be $35 per person and that includes all activities, lunch and transportation. Payment will be taken at the bus the day of the trip.
