San Antonio Christmas Tour
December 1-4, 2025
Make some holiday memories with us in San Antonio, TX! We will enjoy the glowing lights on the River Walk, savor decadent meals, shop seasonal markets, and visit some traditional sites of the city.
After checking into our River Walk hotel the first day, we will eat a group dinner at Mi Tierra Café Y Panaderia, a San Antonio landmark! After dinner we will ride a barge to enjoy the twinkling Christmas lights along the River Walk.
The second day a guided tour of the Alamo and Villa Finale Museum and Gardens are planned, then lunch at Buckhorn Saloon, where Teddy Roosevelt recruited Rough Riders and Pancho Villa is rumored to have planned the Mexican Revolution! After lunch we will tour the saloon’s Texas Ranger Museum with a guide. Next, a viewing of “The Price of Freedom” (history of the Alamo) at the IMAX theater is planned, then a little shopping at La Vallita, which is listed on the U.S. government’s National Register of Historic Places. We will enjoy dinner as a group at Beethoven Mannerchor, where we will be entertained by the oldest German choir west of the Mississippi! After dinner we will travel to San Fernando Cathedral for the awe-inspiring video art projection, SAGA, that shares the story of the land, water, people, battles and development of San Antonio and Texas.
Day three begins at Garcia Art Glass for a live glassblowing demonstration. Gini Garcia has been active as a glass artist and designer for over 20 years and is commissioned by both public institutions and private corporations all over the world! Next is a tour and tasting at Maverick Distilling, where their guide will also educate us on Maverick Distilling’s ties to the legends of the Alamo and deep rooted history of San Antonio. Lunch will be enjoyed at The Pearl district, with time
for shopping, then on to historic Market Square to explore or shop. Dinner and a tour is planned at Tower of the Americas, the location of the 1968 Hemisfair World’s Fair, which celebrated San Antonio’s 250th anniversary.
