Tuesday, March 24, 2026

Step back in time and uncover fascinating stories of West Texas on this day trip to Abilene! We will begin with a visit to the Atlas Cold War Silo, where you’ll explore a preserved missile site and learn how this hidden facility once played a critical role in America’s Cold War defense.

After our morning adventure, we will enjoy a delicious lunch at the popular Cypress Street Station, known for their classic Texas flavors.

Our afternoon continues with a guided tour of the historic Swenson House, one of Abilene’s most elegant homes. In addition to the main tour, guests will enjoy a special featured exhibit highlighting the Women of Abilene, showcasing the remarkable contributions, leadership, and stories of women who helped shape the community’s history.

We will meet at the east side parking lot of WalMart (4215 S. Loop 289) at 7:15am and depart at 7:30am.
