America’s Semiquincentennial
October 8-22, 2026
Celebrate 250 years of American history on a cross-country journey tracing the birth, growth, and enduring spirit of the nation! This 15-day tour is both a commemoration and a celebration-honoring where America began, how it has evolved, and the ideals that continue to shape its future.
This tour begins in Lubbock with overnights in Texarkana, AR, Nashville, TN, and Roanoke, VA, then upon arriving in Williamsburg, VA, a costumed guide will show us the research, conservation, and historic preservation of Colonial Williamsburg, a living history museum of America’s beginnings.
After spending the night in Williamsburg we travel to Washington, D.C., first stopping at Arlington National Cemetery for a trolley tour. Our nation’s most hallowed military cemetery serves as the final resting place for nearly 430,000 U.S. service members, veterans, and their eligible family members, honoring sacrifices from the Civil War to modern conflicts, featuring iconic sites like the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and holding burials for Presidents Kennedy and Taft. After lunch we will drive by Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, our nation’s capital, the White House, and other memorials if time allows. That evening a trolley will pick us up at our hotel for a Monuments By Moonlight tour, featuring illuminated, iconic landmarks, with stops at the Lincoln, FDR, Korean War, Vietnam Veterans, and Iwo Jima memorials.
The next day we continue our historical journey to Philadelphia, PA where we will tour the Museum of the American Revolution, an immersive, 118,000-square-foot experience detailing the nation’s birth through revolutionary-era artifacts, theaters, and interactive galleries. A group dinner is arranged that evening. After breakfast the next morning a walking tour of Independence Mall is planned, then a step-on guide will give us tour of the city. We will enjoy lunch and a tour at the National Constitution Center, an interactive museum which serves as a national town hall, hosting government leaders, journalists, scholars, and celebrities who engage in public discussions, including Constitution-related events and presidential debates. Another group dinner is arranged that evening.
America’s story vividly comes to life the next day with a stop in Plymouth, MA on our way to Boston. We will experience the cramped cargo, gun, and main decks of the Mayflower II (a full-scale replica of the 1620 ship) to understand the harsh conditions faced by the 102 passengers. After spending the night in Boston, the following morning we will take a walking tour of Boston’s famous landmarks on the Freedom Trail, including a tour of the Old North Church. After lunch we continue our tour on the bus, and will also explore Cambridge, Boston’s sister city across the Charles River. A group dinner is arranged after the tour.
Leaving Boston the next morning, we drive to Auburn, NY for the night, then on to Cleveland, OH for a tour of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a museum and hall of fame dedicated to celebrating the history, impact, and cultural significance of rock music.
Our journey toward home begins with stops in Bowling Green, KY, where a visit to the National Corvette Museum is planned, and then also overnighting in Little Rock, AR and Fort Worth, TX before arriving again in Lubbock our last day.
