Let's trade the exciting dust storms in Texas for calm ocean breezes in Florida! Our first night will be in Marshall, TX, and then our journey will continue to the oldest city in Alabama, Mobile. On our way to Tallahassee, FL, we will drive along the southern coast through Fort Walton Beach and Destin. We will enjoy a scenic drive through Tampa, FL, as we make our way to St. Petersburg, FL (nicknamed the Sunshine City), where a step-on guide will join us for a historic tour of the city. After leaving "The Burg," our travels will take us along Florida's west coast and deep into the everglades for an airboat ride in Ochopee, FL where we will get a close-up view of the various plants and animals in this diverse landscape. See ya later, alligator! We will spend the night in Florida City, FL before heading to the southernmost point in the continental United States, Key West. While in Key West, the group will enjoy a Conch Tour Train ride to learn the interesting history of this fascinating city, followed by a tour of Truman's Little White House, which is Florida's only presidential museum. You will see neon come to life driving through Miami on our way to Fort Lauderdale. While in Ft. Lauderdale, a step-on guide will show us some of the popular sites, including the site of the Second Seminole War. We will learn about some of the first pioneers of the city, the Venice of America, the history of the Spring Break craze, and view some of the most extravagant homes in the area. Before spending the night in Cape Canaveral, FL, we will tour the Kennedy Space Center (including the new Gateway Deep Space Launch Complex). After overnighting in Cape Canaveral, we will travel along Florida's east coast through Daytona Beach and Ormond Beach to Jacksonville, FL, where the group will enjoy a narrated cruise on St. Johns River Cruise. Returning home, we will overnight in Hattiesburg, MS, and Tyler, TX. As always, there will surprise stops along our journey!
