Since this tour was canceled due to the pandemic last year, we planned it again for 2021! This time we added a day.
We depart Lubbock and overnight in Durango, CO, Salt Lake City, and Nampa, ID before arriving in Portland, OR for two nights. Near Portland we will enjoy a boat tour on the Columbia River Gorge, Multnomah Falls, and a step-on guide tour of the city (includes the International Rose Test Garden). Leaving Portland, we plan to stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory before spending the night in Coos Bay, OR. The next day we head to Crater Lake National Park where a park ranger will meet our bus for a tour of the deepest lake in America, then on to Grants Pass for the night. From Grants Pass we will follow the coastline through Crescent City (located on a beautiful crescent-shaped bay) and Eureka, CA to the Redwoods and Avenue of the Giants. Continuing our journey along the coast we will see Fort Bragg and its "glass beach," then wind our way through Mendocino, and Point Reyes, stopping to see the lighthouse. We will get a sense of the magnitude of the San Andreas fault line before arriving in San Francisco for two nights. In the "Golden Gate City" we will explore Alcatraz and San Francisco's eclectic neighborhoods and tourist hot spots with our own city guide. After leaving San Francisco the next day, we will travel to Pigeon Point Lighthouse (tallest lighthouse on the US Pacific Coast) and Big Sur, then overnight in Paso Robles, California's wine country. Our journey home we will overnight in Kingman, AZ and Albuquerque, NM (the famous Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town). As always there will be surprise stops to enjoy along our journey!
