Our fall foliage tour this year takes us to the “northeast megalopolis” of the United States, Niagara Falls, Ontario and around the Canadian side of Lake Superior.
This tour begins with travels through Tulsa, Ok, Paducah, KY and Charleston, WV with surprise stops along the way. Our first scheduled activity is in Lancaster, Pennsylvania for a buggy tour of Lancaster and a working Amish farm. That afternoon we will board an Amtrak train that will take us to Philadelphia, PA for two nights. Our first night we will discover the “City of Brotherly Love” from the 57th floor observation deck of One Liberty Place. The next day we will enjoy a tour of Philadelphia’s most historic sites…the Liberty Bell, the Betsy Ross house, and Christ Church to name just a few. That evening we will relax and enjoy a dinner cruise along the Delaware River. Next on our megalopolis adventure is Boston, or “Beantown.” We will also spend two nights here and visit the JFK Presidential Museum and Library and enjoy a guided historical tour of the city. After leaving Boston we will travel to Castile, NY for the night, stopping at the “Grand Canyon of the East” for photo opportunities. The next morning we cross the border into Niagara Falls, ON, where a ride on Maid of the Mist that afternoon will allow us to get an intimate view of the falls. There will be time for shopping and lunch at Niagara on the Lake the next morning, then travel to Sudbury, Ontario for the night. The next morning we take a scenic drive to White River, ON, through Sault St. Marie, ON and Lake Superior Provincial Park. We will take another scenic drive the next day on our way to the “canoeing capital of Canada,” Atikokan, ON, then cross the border and spend the night in Fargo, ND. Before leaving Fargo the next day we will stop by their Visitor’s Center for a little fun. As we travel back to Lubbock we spend the night in Omaha, NE and Dodge City, KS.
