Deep South

May 9-22, 2017

There aren’t many places in the U.S. that can match the Deep South for charm, character, and history. This tour will take you to the very heart of southern USA.

After traveling to Marshall, TX our first night, we begin our southern journey with a guided tour of Vicksburg Military Park.  The next day we lunch and explore Selma, Alabama’s slavery history, then on to Montgomery, AL for a tour of the Rosa Parks Museum.  Our trip heads to Atlanta, GA the next day where we will spend two nights downtown.  A guided tour of the CNN headquarters, as well as, a visit to the Western Hemisphere’s largest aquarium is planned our first day.  The second day in Atlanta a step on guide will give us a tour of the city, then that afternoon we will enjoy a tram ride to the top of Stone Mountain.  After leaving Atlanta, we journey toward Savannah, GA with a stop in Augusta.  A step on guide will give us a tour of Savannah, then we head north the next day toward Columbia, SC, stopping at Hilton Head Lighthouse for photos, and Charleston for lunch.  We will overnight in Columbia, SC and Raleigh, NC and see the capitols in both states.  Before leaving Raleigh a historic mansion tour is planned, then we journey on to Asheville where we will enjoy lunch and a tour of the Biltmore Estate.  Our next adventure takes us to Williamstown, KY to experience a full-scale model of Noah’s Ark!  The next day we begin traveling south again to Nashville, TN where we will see a show at the Grand Ole Opry, then tour backstage the next morning.  Our musical journey continues toward Memphis.  We will stay at the brand new Guest House at Graceland overnight (dinner included), then tour Elvis’ Graceland mansion the next morning.  Our last night on the road will be in McKinney, TX.
