Washington, D.C. and New York City

Washington, D.C. and New York City

October 11-24, 2018

This year our fall foliage tour takes us to the home of our nation’s capital and the Big Apple! There is something special about experiencing the monuments and memorials surrounded by brilliant auburn and yellow hues. And Autumn in New York City really is as magical as the song makes it out to be, with city parks, walkways, and gardens ablaze with the colors of Fall.

We travel to the east coast quickly, spending the night in Marshall, TX, Birmingham, AL and Roanoke, VA. We then head to Williamsburg, VA, stopping at Jefferson’s Monticello in Charlottesville for a quick tour on our way. The next day we will tour Colonial Williamsburg and Mount Vernon as we make our way to Washington, D.C. The next morning a step on guide will give us a tour of our nation’s capital city and we will lunch at Union Station, with free time on your own in the afternoon. We have planned a tour of the new Bible Museum the morning of our final day in Washington, D.C., with free time again in the afternoon. After checking into our hotel in New York City the next day we will see a Broadway show (fall schedule TBD). The morning after we will see the Statue of Liberty and travel to Ellis Island. We will be staying in Times Square and everyone will have free time to check out the rest of the city in the afternoon. Our last morning in the Big Apple a step on guide will give us a tour of Manhattan, then we will travel to Gettysburg, PA for the night. The next morning is a tour of Gettysburg National Military Park and Battlefield, then we head to Wheeling, VA, beginning our journey south. We will spend the night in Effingham, IL and Tulsa, OK on our way home.
